11 – Messages

The following is a list of the pop-up messages that may appear under certain conditions.
Refer to this list if one of these pop-up messages appears and you want to check the meaning or determine a proper response.

Message

Meaning and response

Battery Empty

The batteries are out of power. Replace them. Alternatively, use a TASCAM PS-P520 AC adaptor (sold separately).

Can’t Divide

The position selected for dividing is not suitable (too close to the beginning or end of the file). Divide the file at a suitable

position.

Card Error

The unit could not use the card properly. Replace the card.

Card Full

The card has no remaining capacity. Erase unnecessary files or move them to a computer to make open space.

Dup File Name

The DIVIDE function has caused the file name to be the same as that of an existing file. The DIVIDE function adds “_a” or “_b” to

the end of the original file name. Before dividing, connect the unit to a computer and edit the file name.

File Full

The total number of folders and files exceeds 9999. Erase unnecessary items or move them to your computer.

File Name ERR

The DIVIDE function has caused the file name to exceed 200 characters. The DIVIDE function adds “_a” or “_b” to the end of the

original file name. Before dividing, connect the unit to a computer and edit the file name to 198 characters or less.

File Not Found

A file added to a playlist cannot be found. Please confirm that the file is in the active folder.

File Protected

The file is read-only so it cannot be deleted. Use a computer to delete read-only files.

Format Error
Format CARD

The formatting of the card might be in-correct or the card might be broken. This message also appears if you format a card

using a computer connected by USB or if you insert an unformatted card in the unit. Always use the DR-V1HD to format cards

to be used with it. Change the card, or press the F1(

) button (YES) while this message appears to FAT format the card. FAT

formatting erases all data on the card.

I/O Too Short

The interval between the IN and OUT points is too short. Set them at least one second apart.

Non-Supported

The file is not a supported format. Please see “9 – Connecting with a computer” for file formats that this unit can use.

No PLAYLIST

No files have been added to the playlist. Add a file to the playlist or change the play mode to something other than PLAYLIST.

Out Of Card Space

The SD card does not have enough open space to use the DIVIDE function. At least as much open space as the size of the file

being divided is necessary.
Delete unneeded files from the card. Back up files that you might want later to a computer before deleting them.

PLAYLIST Full

The playlist is full. You cannot add more than 99 files to a playlist.

Unsupported
Sampling Rate!!

In video recording mode, recording is not possible when the sampling frequency is set to 96kHz.
Set the sampling frequency to 44.1kHz or 48kHz.

Write Timeout

Writing to the card timed out. Backup the files on the card to a computer and format the card.

NO SDCARD

No microSD card is inserted in the recorder. Insert a card properly.

No File

There is no file that can be viewed when browsing.

No Movie File

There is no video file (mov) in the playback area.

No Audio File

There is no audio file (wav) in the playback area.
