4. Bulk dump

Bulk dump function enables transmission and reception of various setting data inside the unit between an external
MIDI sequencer or computer, or another DEQ5(E) through the MIDI I/O terminal or the RS-485 terminal.

Bulk damp procedure

® Connect MIDI OUT or RS-485 terminal of the unit and MIDI IN or RS-485 terminal on the receiving side.

[Example] When transmitting data from the unit to another DEQ5.

MIDI: Set the MIDI channel of the unit and that of the other side. [Refer to “9. MIDI control” (see page 33)]

RS-485: Set REMOTE ADDRESS in the UTILITY “RS-485 NETWORK” menu of the unit to the LOCAL

ADDRESS of the other equipment.

Prepare to receive bulk dump on the receiving side and set to standby status.

Make sure that “PROTECT” switch on the rear panel of the receiving DEQ5 is set to “OFF” when receiving

with DEQ5.
If protect is on, data cannot be received.
