5. RS-485 network

The various settings below are required to use the RS-485 terminal.
In the RS-485 format, communication protocols can be changed as necessary.
To transmit or receive data through this terminal, data communication protocols should be set the same on both

the transmitting and receiving sides.
Please refer to the item “[^ Using with DEQ5(E)” for controlling DEQ5(E) through this terminal.
Also refer to the item “[e] RS-485” for further details regarding RS-485.

1^: REMOTE and LOCAL are switched over with <, > keys.

REMOTE: The communication protocols of the other unit are set and a recipient is selected.
GROUP:

Select 1 to 7 and Selecting (broadcast) enables communication with all groups.

DEVICE:

Select 1 to 31 and Selecting (broadcast) enables communication with all devices.

LOCAL:

The communication protocols of the unit are set.

GROUP:

Select from 1 to 7.

DEVICE:

Select from 1 to 31.

Transmission rate is set here using rotary encoder “3”.
Either 9600 or 38400 can be selected. (Set to 9600 when shipped.)
