22. Troubleshooting

Fault description

Possible cause

Required measures

Heating

Set-point temperature is not

reached after specified time.

Unit door not properly closed.

Completely close unit door.

Door gasket defective.

Replace door gasket.

Controller not adjusted.

Calibrate and adjust controller.

Chamber heating permanently,

exceeding the set-point.

Controller defective..

Contact BINDER service.

Semiconductor relay defective.
Controller not adjusted.

Calibrate and adjust controller.

Chamber doesn’t heat

up.

Notification:

Heating element defective.

Contact BINDER service.

Semiconductor relay defective.

Chamber doesn’t heat up.

Safety controller has turned off

the chamber. Limit temperature

reached. Safety controller set

too low.

Allow the unit to cool down and

press the RESET button. Check

temperature set-point and setting

of safety controller. If appropriate,

select suitable limit value

Safety controller defective.

BINDER Contact BINDER service.

Semiconductor relay defective.
Controller defective.

Unit without function.

No power supply.

Check connection to power supply.

Wrong voltage.

Check power supply for voltage of

100-120V or 200-240V.

Unit fuse has responded.

Check unit fuse and replace it if

appropriate. If it responds again,

contact BINDER service.

Controller defective.

Contact BINDER service.

Nominal temperature exceeded

by 10° due to unit failure. Over

temperature protective device

(class 1) responds.

Very long heating-up times.

Chamber fully loaded.

Load the unit less or consider

longer heating-up times.

Overtemperature safety

controller class 3.1

responds.

Alarm messages:

Safety controller set-point value

exceeded.

Check setting of temperature set-

point and of the safety controller

class 3.1 set-point. If appropriate,

select suitable value.

Too much external heat load.

Reduce heat load.

Controller defective.

Contact BINDER service.

Safety controller defective.
Semiconductor relay defective.

With option safety

controller class 3.3:

overtemperture safety

controller responds.

Alarm messages:

Safety controller set-point value

exceeded.

Check setting of temperature set-

point and of the safety controller

class 3.1 set-point. If appropriate,

select suitable value.

Too much external heat load.

Reduce heat load.
