Selecting a file

Calling the file manager

Use the arrow keys to move the highlight to the desired file:

Move the highlight up or down.

Enter the first or more numbers of the file you wish to select and
then press the GOTO key: The highlight moves to the first file that
matches these numbers.

The selected file is opened in the operating
mode from which you have the called file
manager: Press ENT.

Copying a file

Move the highlight to the file you wish to copy.

ú

Press the COPY soft key to select the copying
function.

ú

Enter the name of the destination file and confirm your entry with
the ENT key: The TNC copies the file. The original file is retained.

Renaming a file

ú

Move the highlight to the file you wish to rename.

ú

Select the renaming function.

ú

Enter the new file name; the file type cannot be
changed.

ú

To execute renaming, press the ENT key.

4.2 File Management

Deleting a file

ú

Move the highlight to the file you want to delete.

ú

To select the erasing function,
press the DELETE soft key.
The TNC inquires whether you
really intend to erase the file.

ú

To confirm erasure: Press the YES
soft key. Abort with the NO soft key
if you do not wish to erase the
directory

Protecting a file/Canceling file
protection

ú

Move the highlight to the file you want to protect.

ú

To enable file protection, press the
PROTECT/UNPROTECT soft key.
The file now has status P.

You also need to enter the code number 86357.
To cancel file protection, enter the code number
86357.
