7. Troubleshooting

Refer to the following chart if trouble occurs. If trouble persists, contact your service representative.

The main power switch is on but
nothing is displayed on the
operation panel.

Is the power plug inserted
securely into the outlet?

Insert the power plug securely into the outlet.

The copy is blank.

Was the original inserted face
down?

Insert the original face down.

Paper jams often.

Are there wrinkles or folds in the
paper?

Remove the portion of the paper roll that contains the
wrinkles or folds.

Is there any jammed paper or
are there other pieces of paper
remaining inside the machine?

Remove them by following the appropriate procedure.

Is the paper setting method
proper?

Check the paper setting method.

Is vellum used?

The leading edge may have been damaged.
Pull out the paper roll until the damaged portion
comes out and then cut it before using it.

Copy image is skewed.

Was the original fed straight?

Set the original referring to “

Setting the original with

precision”.

Is inclination adjustment set?

Disable the inclination adjustment.

Copy image is shifted to either
side (widthwise)

Are the original guides properly
set in accordance with the
original size indications on the
original table?

Align the original guides with the original size
indications and then insert an original.

Is the paper roll installed
properly into the roll unit?

Align the flange guide positions with the appropriate
size labels.

Was the paper fed properly in
the bypass mode?

Adjust the bypass guides to the paper size and then
insert the copy paper.

Was the image shift function
set?

Cancel the image shift function.

The original is set, but a copy is
not made.

Is there a message on the
operation panel?

Check the proper procedure for the displayed
message and perform accordingly.
