Operating the optional ADF
When you place several sheets of originals in the input tray, they are
automatically fed to the glass to be copied. Double-sided originals
can be reversed automatically to make double-sided copies.
Avoiding media jams
The following types of originals cannot be used in the optional ADF:
! Originals with tears, large holes, or binding holes
! Severely curled originals or originals with sharp folds
! Paper clipped or stapled originals
! Highly transparent originals
! Other originals that may not feed smoothly
Always check the condition of originals that have been fed repeatedly
through the optional ADF. When the same originals are used
repeatedly to make copies, the originals may become folded or
wrinkled and may not feed smoothly.
Note Media types that are not supported by the optional ADF still can be
copied on the glass.
