Legal limitations of color copying
Copying certain documents in color may be illegal and may result in
either criminal or civil liability. The following list is intended to be a
guide rather than a complete listing of every possible restriction.
Check with your legal counsel if you are copying a questionable
document not listed here.
The following documents may not be copied:
! Paper money, travelers checks, or money orders
! Food stamps
! Certificates of deposit
! Passports
! Postage stamps (canceled or uncanceled)
! Immigration papers
! Identifying badges or insignias
! Selective service or draft papers
! Bonds or other certificates of indebtedness
! Checks or drafts drawn by governmental agencies
! Stock certificates
! Motor vehicle licenses and certificates of title
! Copyrighted works or works of art without the permission of the
copyright owner
Note The copy module is provided with a security key to ensure that only
authorized copies are made. Use of this key should be strictly
supervised.
