Command Line Interface User’s Guide

The specification of the drive letter is optional. If you omit the drive
letter, the CLI assigns the next available drive letter. Note that
Windows Explorer displays the drive letter you assign here in its All
Folder’s pane (the left pane).

After executing the

container assign drive_letter

command, use the

container list

command again to verify that

the drive letter was assigned, as in the following example. In the
example, the Dr column indicates that drive letter F is assigned to
container 0.

HPN0> container list

Executing: container list

Removing a Drive Letter from a Container

To remove a drive letter, use the

container remove

drive_letter

command, as in the following example. In the

example, drive letter F is removed from container 0.

HPN0> container remove drive_letter F

Executing: container remove drive_letter "F"

After executing the

container remove drive_letter

command, use the

container list

command again to verify that

the drive letter was removed. Note that removal of a drive letter
causes Windows Explorer to remove the letter from its All Folders
pane.

Displaying A Root Special File (UNIX Only)

The

root special file

attribute identifies the UNIX root special

file associated with a container. The operating system creates these
root special files as a result of a container create operation.

The CLI allows you to display the root special files associated with
containers. To display a container’s root special file after creating a
container (using one of the container create commands), use

container list

. The root special file appears in the Num Label
