Working with Event Notification

To send a test e-mail notification message, use the

mail test

command, as in the following example. In the example, the mail test
command sends an e-mail notification message using the local
computer and domain to [email protected]. Note that the
Subject

item and the message This is a test mail message are

supplied by the system.

HPN0> mail test "[email protected]"

Executing: mail test "[email protected]"

The content of the test e-mail notification message is as follows:

From: [email protected] Sent:Wed 8/6/97 1:55 PM

To: [email protected]

Cc:

Subject: A test message.

This is a test mail message.

Clearing Mail Message Reporting

The CLI allows you to clear (disable) controller event e-mail
message reporting for one or more events. To clear e-mail message
reporting, use the

mail clear message

command. You

previously set (enabled) e-mail message reporting for one or more
events using the

mail set message

command.

How to Clear the Mail Server

This section provides an example that describes how to clear e-mail
message notifications from the e-mail server.

To display e-mail message information for all controller event types,
use the

mail show message

command, as in the following

example. In the example, the output of the mail show message
command with the /all switch indicates that e-mail message
reporting is set only for the DriveLetterChange event.

HPN0> mail show message /all=TRUE

Executing: mail show message /all=TRUE

Message : DriverLetterChange

To : [email protected]

Subject : HP NetRAID-4M controller message
