Working with Event Notification

Displaying the Mail Server

The

mail server name

attribute identifies the name of the

computer that processes e-mail notification messages for controller
events. The e-mail server can be on the local computer or on a
remote computer. If the e-mail server is on a remote computer, the
Remote Management Services Agent must be running on that
computer. See Setting the Mail Server on page 12-5 for information on
how to set the e-mail server.

To display the name of the computer on which the e-mail server is
set, use the

mail show server

command, as in the following

example. In the example, the Mail Server item indicates that
sul9999b

is the name of the computer on which the e-mail server is

set.

Executing: mail show server

Mail Server : sul9999b

Displaying the Mail Message Type

The

mail message type

attribute indicates the message type

associated with a controller event that caused an e-mail notification
message to be sent. See the Command Line Interface Reference Guide for
a list of mail message types and corresponding event types. To
display the mail message type of a controller event, use the

mail

show message

command, as in the following example. See How to

Set Mail Message Reporting on page 12-7 for information on how to
set the mail message type. In the example, the Message item
indicates that AdapterFailure is the mail message type of a
controller event that initiated an e-mail notification message.
