Modifying Containers

Before deleting a container, use the

container list

command to

display information about your containers, as in the following
example. In the example, the Num Label column indicates container
0

, which is a Volume set.

To delete a container, use the

container delete

command, as in

the following example. In the example, container 0 is deleted.

HPN0> container delete 0

Executing: container delete 0

After running the

container delete

command, use the

container list

command to verify that the container was

deleted, as in the following example. In the example, no containers
are found on the controller.

HPN0> container list

Executing: container list

No containers found.

Understanding How to Delete a Container in a NetWare
Environment

When deleting a container on a NetWare system, go to the NetWare
console and remove the corresponding volume and partition. For
information on how to perform these operations, see the appropriate
NetWare documentation.

After you delete a container on a NetWare server, run the

list

devices

command on the NetWare console so that the

corresponding virtual disk is removed from the system’s internal
device table.

NetWare 5.x does not support dynamically-updated Novell Storage
Services (NSS) configurations. For example, if you delete a newly-
created container on a NetWare 5.x system, the change is not
reflected in the NSS Update Provider Information, List Devices, or
Scan devices for new hardware options. To update the NSS
