Disassembly and Inspection
Refer to Figure 3-56., Swing Motor - Exploded View.
1. Place motor in a soft jawed vice, with coupling shaft
(12) pointed down and vise jaws clamping firmly on
sides of housing (18) mounting flange, or port
bosses. Remove manifold port O-rings if applicable.
IF MOTOR IS NOT HELD FIRMLY IN VISE, IT COULD DISLODGE
DURING SERVICE PROCEDURES AND CAUSE INJURY.
2. Scribe an alignment mark down and across motor
components from end cover (2) to housing (18) to
facilitate reassembly orientation where required.
3. Remove special ring head bolts (1) with 1/2" or 9/16"
socket. Inspect bolts for damaged threads or sealing
rings. Replace damaged bolts.
4. Remove end cover assembly (2) and seal ring (4).
Discard seal ring.
5. Thoroughly wash end cover (2) in proper solvent
and blow dry. Be sure end cover valve apertures are
