Comparison Reports

Comparison reports record the results when a production file is compared to a

master file. You choose the type of comparison report you want when you

configure single comparison parameters. Table 10.B lists the comparison report

types. Figure 10.1 shows example reports.

Table 10.B

Comparison Reports

If you want to see a comparison:

Generate this report:

between the production file ladder program and the master file

ladder program

ladder

between the values in the production file data table to the

corresponding master file data table

data table

of both the ladder program and data table values of the

production file to the corresponding master file

both

of selected data table and ladder program files

partial

If you want the compare report to display ladder rungs with comments, make sure

the documentation database for the processor file is in the master directory.

The accumulator values, done bits, and enable bits in PLC-5 timer, counter, and

control words change frequently, so ControlGuardian does not compare these

values. ControlGuardian does compare all PLC-2 and PLC-3 data values.

When you insert a processor file that is in Run mode with edits, and you compare

that file to a master, any rungs inserted in the edit file display as deleted rungs in the

comparison report. If the processor file is in Run mode with test edits and you

compare that file to a master, any insert or replace rung displays as a deleted rung

and the original rung displays as an inserted rung because it moved off its original

rung number.
