Setting Drive Control to the Keypad
This example shows you how to configure the drive for keypad control. You will need to
change the values of three parameters to accomplish this.
Step 1. Program A01 [ FREQUENCY COMMAND SELECT ] to change the frequency
reference command from the control terminal block (factory default) to the
speed potentiometer on the keypad.
Step 2. Program A02 [ START COMMAND SELECT ] to change the source of the start
input from the control terminal block (factory default) to Start on the keypad.
Step 3. Program C13 [ DIGITAL INPUT 3 LOGIC ] to change the input from a normally
closed contact (NC) to a normally open contact (NO).
Step 4. Verify that F04 [ START KEY DIRECTION ] is not set to 2 (Control Terminal).
Step 5. Verify that C1 through C5 [ DIGITAL INPUTS 1-5] are at default values.
Action Description Display
Press PROGram to switch from the parameter value to the parameter number. d01
Press Up Arrow or Down Arrow to scroll through the parameter groups stopping at
the A group. A--
Press PROGram to enter into the A group. A01
If a parameter other than A01 [ FREQUENCY COMMAND SELECT ] is displayed press
Down Arrow until A01 is displayed.

Press PROGram to view the parameter value. 01
Use Down Arrow to change the value of A01 from the default value of 01 to 00.
This changes the source of the frequency command to the potentiometer on the
fixed keypad. 00
When the desired value is displayed, press the Enter Key. This writes the new
value to memory. The display will return to the parameter number. A01
Press Up Arrow to display A02 [ START COMMAND SELECT ]. A02
Press PROGram to view the parameter value stored in A02. 01
Use Up Arrow to change the value of A02 from the default value of 01 to 02. This
changes the source of the start input from the control terminal block to the fixed
keypad. 02
When the desired value is displayed, press Enter. This writes the new value to
memory. The display will return to the parameter number. A02
Press Down Arrow until C13 [ DIGITAL INPUT 3 LOGIC ] is displayed. C13
Press PROGram to view the parameter value. 01
Use Down Arrow to change the value of C13 from the default value of 01 to 00.
This changes the input to a normally open contact. 00
When the desired value is displayed, press the Enter Key. This writes the new
value to memory. The display will return to the parameter number. C13
