Certifying the Protector
ClassMate Fume Hood

The combination of your laboratory hood, exhaust
ductwork, and exhaust blower enables you flexibility to
change the airflow generated across the sash opening on
the hood. To determine the actual face velocity through
the sash opening, airflow velocity readings will need to
be taken. This should be done across the sash opening
of the hood in accordance with the Industrial
Ventilation Manual
section on laboratory hoods.
Labconco recommends an average face velocity
through the reduced hood opening of 60 to 100 feet per
minute. Reference airflow’s for your particular model
in Chapter 3 Fume Hood Components.
