Chapter 3: Getting Started
To install the supply tubing, follow these steps:
1. Remove the valve service plate and outlet fitting
access covers by loosening their individual screws.
The valve body and service areas will now be fully
exposed.
2. Ensure that the tubing is ¼ inch outside diameter,
soft metal, and that the end has been deburred
completely. (See Appendix D Service Fixture
Accessories to order 5.5' of supply tubing 48899-00
or 49211-00 gas).
3. Route the tubing from under the fume hood through
the slot in the work surface.
Make sure that the tube routing will
not contact any electrical wires.
4. Make sure that the tube fitting on the valve is loose,
but do not remove it. Look inside the fitting to
make sure the tube ferrules are there.
5. Push the tube into the fitting until it is properly
seated. The tube will go approximately ¾ inch into
the fitting.
6. Tighten the tube fitting hand tight and then using a
7/16 inch wrench, tighten it at least ¾ turn more.
