Replacing a memory module

CAUTION:

Do not touch the surface-mounted components of the memory module directly with your hands to avoid
damaging the memory module. Hold the memory module only at its non-conductive edge.

To protect the removed memory module, place it in an antistatic bag.

To replace a memory module:

1.

Determine the module (MPU or FIP) for which you will replace a memory module, and put the
module on a flat workbench.

2.

Pull the release latches away from the memory module at both ends so that the memory module is
lifted from the memory module slot.

3.

Holding the non-conductive edge, remove the memory module.

4.

Align the polarization notch of the memory module with the key in the connector.

5.

Insert the memory module into the slot.
