Only one cube is created per resized simple or snapshot volume. Any further
simple volumes are added to the existing cube. In Figure 8-16 a second one-
terabyte simple volume is added to the existing cube created to resize Sim2.

If a volume to be resized is a concatenated volume, a cube is not created and
any volume type can be used except transparent or snapshot. In Figure 8-17 a
concatenated volume with a potential capacity of two terabytes is resized to a
potential capacity of three terabytes by the addition of a one-terabyte child
without first creating a cube. The actual capacity of the concatenated volume
remains unchanged until it is expanded to match its potential size.
