or earlier, proceed to the upgrade procedure in section A.14 on
page 178.

These instructions apply specifically to the Windows XP operating
system. For other operating systems, please make adjustments as
appropriate.

1. Personal Computer (PC) networked by Ethernet to the system on
which the target Model 430 resides,
or
PC connected directly to the target Model 430 via a “null-modem”
or “crossover” Ethernet cable.
