Installing a SCSI device in the 5.25-inch device bay

The 5.25-inch device bay is capable of incorporating a maximum
of three built-in type 5.25-inch SCSI devices.
When installing a SCSI device, first read “Before you start” of this
chapter and follow the instructions given below.

1 If the server is in operation, shut it down and switch off the

power.

2 Unplug the power cable.

NOTE: Installation of a SCSI device while the server is turned

on may cause damage to the server or to the SCSI device.

3 Remove the front door panel and side panel.

See “Removing and replacing the server panels” on page 21.

4 Enter the SCSI ID of the SCSI device to be installed.

5 Fit two rails to the SCSI device to be installed and fasten each

rail using two screws.

Use the screw B supplied with the server.
See “Before you start” on page 43.
