VX76 SOFTWARE USER MANUAL

Special Considerations for the V276 On Mac

The V276 On Mac console is considerably different from V476 and V676 consoles in that its front panel does not
contain any touchscreen displays or, in some cases, the same hard buttons. This does not affect its capability to
perform the same functions as the other Vx76 console types, however, in it may be necessary to use various desktop
windows in order to perform the same actions. For example, the V276 front panel does not have a central
touchscreen, but the same command-line data can be displayed and controlled using the V276 HUD window.
Likewise, the V276 On Mac front panel does not contain submaster Run, Stop, or Step buttons, but these can be
controlled using the Submaster HUD window.

In many cases, console operations can be performed at either the front panel using touchscreen displays and hard
buttons, or in the corresponding desktop windows, although this manual typically illustrates one or the other for
clarity. Since the desktop windows look almost identical to the touchscreen displays, it is easy enough to adapt the
instructions to either. In cases where V276 operation is radically different, this will be detailed in the appropriate
section of the manual. If the operations are similar, it may be that examples are shown using only one console’s
particular hardware, however, be aware that the instructions will still apply to your specific console.

The primary areas where the V276 On Mac front panel differs from the other Vx76 consoles are as follows:

+

No front panel touchscreen displays - use equivalent desktop windows such as V276 HUD, Submaster HUD,
Palettes, etc. (Refer to

"V276 Display"

on page 369.)

+

No dedicated submaster rate encoder - use the virtual Rate knob available on the Submaster HUD. (Refer to

"Submasters HUD Operation"

on page 368.)

+

No front panel [Online] button - select Online or Offline from the Vx76 menu or use

Online

button available in the

Channel Select window.

+

No front panel [Run], [Stop], or [Step] buttons - perform these actions using the Submaster HUD.

+

No front panel [Blackout] button - bring the Grand Master fader to zero.

The V276 On Mac also offers buttons that are only found on this console’s front panel.

+

The first set of buttons are used to open windows on the desktop, such as the Function Filter, Timing Filter, Snap
Shots, or Channel Select. For example, pressing the [Chan Select] button will open the Channel Select window:
