Overview
This document is applicable to the following load balancing (LB) products:
• H3C SecPath L1000-A LB device (hereinafter referred to as L1000-A)
• H3C SecBlade LB module (hereinafter referred to as LB module)
Unless otherwise specified, the term "LB product" refers to both the L1000-A and the LB module.
The H3C LB products are designed for data centers of carriers, portal websites, large and medium-sized
enterprises, and industries. The LB module can be installed on an H3C S7500E/S9500E/S12500 switch
or an SR8800/CR16000 router to provide load balancing services. L1000-A can be used
independently of a switch or router.
The H3C LB products provide the following load balancing services:
• Server load balancing—Deployed at the distribution layer or core layer of a data center, the LB
product equally distributes clients' access requests to the servers in the data center, thus ensuring the
data center's response speed and service continuity.
• Link load balancing—Deployed at the network egress, the LB product uses scheduling algorithms to
properly and dynamically distribute data to different links based on link status.
You can configure most functions of the LB products in the Web interface and some functions at the
command line interface (CLI). Each chapter in this document clearly specifies whether the involved
functions can be configured through Web or CLI.
