System Setup

The GUI Setup window is accessible from the Windows menu or by using the keyboard shortcut [Ctrl+1].
Five submenus can be accessed from the row of icon buttons along the left side of the Setup window.

Setup options can be found on the front panel LCD from the SYSTEM, DIG-I/O, and SYNC system
control buttons. Setup options that have no function when operating from the front panel, such as mouse
speed, cannot be set from the front panel menus.

The front panel setup functions are duplicated on the Remote 48, so all instructions for using the front
panel LCD, System Control, and SELECT buttons apply to the Remote 48, even if not indicated. If you
have two recorders connected to the Remote 48, be aware of the DECK 2 button in the lower left corner
of the control panel. You can set up either of the two recorders from the same set of Remote 48 controls.
This button directs your operations to the primary recorder (the one to which the Remote 48 is connected)
or the secondary recorder that’s networked to the primary one. When the LED above the DECK 2 button
is illuminated, you’re talking to the secondary recorder.

Appendix A

details all of the settings and their options. In this section, we’ll just show you how to get

there.

clock/calendar. Set the date
and time by clicking on the up
and down arrows next to each
field in the date/time display.
The clock can only be set from
the GUI.

Window Frames
This is visual preference to set
the color of the top (active
window) bar in floating
windows and dialog boxes. All
of the illustrations in this
manual are in the Gray Motif,
which also has a 3D appearance.

Mouse Speed
This is a pull-down menu to select the speed of the mouse cursor. Click on the arrow to see the
options. Select Fast for most general operations, but you might want to slow it down for high
resolution editing.

Waveform colors
This pull-down menu allows you to select an alternate color scheme for the Tracks area of the
GUI. Set this to suit your aesthetic taste or mood, or perhaps to make staring on the screen for
