Digital I/O

The HDR24/96 detects the cards installed in the I/O slots and only displays information relevant to
the installed cards. The AIO-8 (analog) and OPT-8 (ADAT™ Optical) cards have no setup options –
they’re just there. Since the DIO-8 card has both ADAT™ and TDIF™ interfaces, the desired input
and output interface must be selected. The PDI-8 (AES/EBU) card has options for input sample rate
conversion and professional/consumer channel status bits, which are set from its setup menu.

DIO-8 Setup from the GUI
The selected interface for the Input and Output is
shown in the box below the card name. Those
are pull-down menus. Click on the Input or
Output button to select the other interface.
ADAT and TDIF can be selected for both Input
and Output, and they need not be the same for
both. The Output has two additional choices,
TD-AD and AD-TD. These allow the DIO-8
card to be used as a straight through converter
between the two formats without recording.

The PDI-8 has a single SETUP button in its box.
Clicking on this button brings up a
submenu for setting the PDI-8 options.
The PDI-8 works in pairs of channels.

Clicking in any of the Converted check
boxes enables sample rate conversion
on that input pair. Use this option if
you’re working at 48 kHz and you
want to fly in a couple of tracks from a
CD.

The Status Bits buttons are pull-down
menus, which allow you select the
