The message here is "Jot down the recorder’s IP settings." You’ll need them later.

NOTE: Your computer may already have a specific IP address, in which case it is probably best
to make the HDR settings match the computer (if possible). For instance if your computer is
normally connected to a local area network with static IP addressing or to an ISP that has assigns
fixed IP addresses, then probably you'll want to leave those computer settings alone. In that way
you can connect and disconnect from either the peer-to-peer (HDR) network or your other
network without having to constantly reestablish the settings. This will only work if the IP
address is static (fixed) and if other settings are standard. If this is your situation, then first look
up the network settings on your computer and have them ready as we make changes to the HDR
24/96. If you need some help getting those settings from your computer, you may want to look
ahead to the section on

Client Computer TCP/IP Settings

as a guide.

For this peer-to-peer network, whether you end up changing the IP address on the computer or on
the HDR, you will edit the first three fields to be the same as that of the other IP address, and
make the fourth field (right-most digits) different
. With these IP addresses the two networked
devices are on the same “street,” but not living at the same house.

View or Configure the HDR24/96 TCP/IP Settings from the GUI
Click the Windows menu and select Setup (Keyboard shortcut [C

TRL

+1]).

Select Network. Note the IP address displayed. The factory default is 10.10.28.20.

Edit the IP address if you need to make a change. Be sure to leave four fields separated by
periods. The Setup window will not automatically
correct mistakes here.

As described above, your client computer may already
have a specific IP address. In that case, edit the
recorder’s IP address to match the first three fields of
the computer's IP address and make the fourth field
different.

The Subnet default setting is 255.255.0.0. Leave it as
is unless your network requires a specific subnet mask.

If no Gateway is being used you can usually leave this
setting blank, though some FTP clients require an entry even for a simple network.
10.10.10.10 is the default value.

Click Apply and close the Setup window.

View or Configure HDR24/96 TCP/IP Settings from the Front Panel or Remote 48
Press the SYSTEM button

Select

Note the IP address in the display. The factory default is 10.10.28.20. When you are done
here, you will need to know the HDR24/96 IP address to set up your FTP client software.

Use the

needed.

As described above, your client computer may already have a specific IP address. In that
case, edit the recorder’s IP address to match the first three fields of the computer's IP address
and make the fourth field different.
