Command Mode

Interface Configuration (Ethernet)

Command Usage

When broadcast traffic exceeds the specified threshold, packets above that

threshold are dropped.

• Broadcast control does not effect IP multicast traffic.

Example

The following shows how to configure broadcast storm control at 600 packets per
second:

Console(config)#interface ethernet 1/5

Console(config-if)#switchport broadcast packet-rate 600

Console(config-if)#

clear counters

This command clears statistics on an interface.

Syntax

clear counters interface

interface

ethernet unit/port

- unit - Stack unit. (Range: 1-8)

-

port - Port number. (Range: 1-26/50)

port-channel channel-id (Range: 1-32)

Command Usage

Statistics are only initialized for a power reset. This command sets the base
value for displayed statistics to zero for the current management session.
However, if you log out and back into the management interface, the statistics
displayed will show the absolute value accumulated since the last power reset.

Example

The following example clears statistics on port 5.

Console#clear counters ethernet 1/5
