Apply JLG threadlocker P/N 0100019 to the threads
where the jam nut will be and tighten the jam nut.

9.

Torque the M16 bolts on the left of the swing drive to
280 Nm (206.5 lbs.ft.).

10.

Torque the M20 bolts on the right side of the swing drive
to 550 Nm (405 ft.lbs.).

11.

Remove the shim and discard.

SWING BEARING

Wear Tolerance

1.

From the underside of the machine, with the main
boom positioned as shown in Figure 3-32., set up a mag-
netic base dial indicator and set the indicator to 0 (zero).
Refer to Figure 3-31.

2.

Next, position the main boom fully extended as shown
in Figure 3-33.. Read the measurement recorded on the
dial indicator gauge.

3.

If the measurement is greater than 0.079 in. (2.006 mm),
the swing bearing should be replaced.

4.

If the measurement is less than 0.079 in. (2.006 mm), and
any of the following conditions exist, the bearing should
be removed, disassembled, and inspected.

a. Metal particles in the grease.

b. Increased drive power required.

c. Noise.

d. Rough rotation.

5.

If bearing inspection shows no defects, reassemble and
return to service.
