9. Loosen and remove exhaust pipe clamp (6 & 7) and
remove exhaust pipe (8).
10. Remove hardware (9) securing muffler to frame.
Carefully lower muffler from machine.
11. Loosen and remove clamp (10) securing exhaust
pipe (11) to engine.
12. Remove exhaust pipe assembly.
7.7.4 Exhaust System Installation—LS
Note: Keep all clamps loosened until entire exhaust
system is in place.
1. Install muffler and secure with hardware removed
earlier. Do not tighten.
2. Install exhaust pipe (11) onto engine. Secure with
V-band clamp (10). Do Not Tighten.
3. Install exhaust pipe (8). Secure with new clamps
(7 & 6). Do Not Tighten.
4. Tighten and torque V-band clamp (10) to 11-13 Nm
(8-9.5 lb-ft).
5. Tighten and torque clamps (7 & 6) to 11-13 Nm
(8-9.5 lb-ft).
6. Install tail pipe (5) to the muffler (2) with previously
used clamp (4). Do Not Tighten.
7. Install clamps (3 & 4). Do Not Tighten.
8. Use mounting holes “A” to secure the exhaust pipe
to mounting bracket.
9. Adjust the muffler, exhaust and tail pipes for
proper clearance then tighten all clamps. Torque
to 12 Nm (9 lb-ft).
10. Properly connect battery.
11. Start engine and check for exhaust leaks at all
exhaust connections. Adjust or repair as needed.
12. Install belly pan.
13. Close and secure engine cover.
14. Remove Do Not Operate Tag from ignition key
switch and steering wheel.
