Operation at earth−leakage circuit breaker (e.l.c.b.)

{

Danger!

The regenerative power supply module has an internal rectifier. In case of a
short circuit to frame a smooth DC residual current can block the activation of
AC−sensitive or pulse current sensitive e.l.c.b.s and thus cancel the protective
function for all equipment that is operated at this e.l.c.b..
For the protection of persons and animals we recommend the use of
universal−current sensitive e.l.c.b.s type B to IEC60755.

ƒ

Only install the e.l.c.b.s between the supply mains and the mains filter.

ƒ

E.l.c.b.s may trip incorrectly by
– capacitive compensation currents of the cable shields during operation (especially

with long, shielded motor cables),

– simultaneous connection of several controllers to the mains,
– use of additional interference filters.

5.1.6

Specification of the cables used

ƒ

The cables used must comply with the approvals required at the site (e.g. UL).

ƒ

The prescribed minimum cross−sections for PE conductors must be maintained in all
cases.
– PE must be connected according to EN 61800−5−1.

ƒ

The shielding quality of a cable is determined by
– a good shield connection
– a low shield resistance

Only use shields with tinned or nickel−plated copper braid!

– the degree of coverage of the braid:

at least 70% to 80% with an overlap angle of 90°.

ƒ

Protect the cables of the regenerative power supply module with the prescribed
cable−protection fuses.
