Removing the LSI 9265-8i RAID Battery

CAUTION: Many repairs may only be done by a certified service technician. You
should only perform troubleshooting and simple repairs as authorized in your
product documentation, or as directed by the online or telephone service and
support team. Damage due to servicing that is not authorized by Dell is not

covered by your warranty. Read and follow the safety instructions that came with
the product.

NOTE: The information in this section applies only to systems intalled with the LSI
9265-8i card.

1 Recommend to turn off the system, including any attached peripherals,

and disconnect the system from the electrical outlet.

2 Remove the system-board assembly. See “Removing a System-Board

Assembly” on page 115.

3 Disconnect the cable connecting to the LSI 9265-8i card.
4 Remove the LSI 9265-8i RAID battery assembly from the system-board

assembly. See “Removing the LSI 9265-8i RAID Battery Assembly” on
page 145.

5 Remove the three screws that secure the RAID battery and lift the

RAID battery away from the LSI 9265-8i RAID battery carrier. See
Figure 3-21.
