Select the new 10 digit local dialing rule from the left side, and click “Add >>”. Then click OK. The
window will close.
You can test the rule that was created by clicking the Validate button on the main Validation Editor
interface. Enter some example input numbers, and verify the OUTPUT: listed in the results window is
correct.

Some services need long­distance access codes or other access codes appended to the end of the fax
number.
2.6.3.8 Adding Pauses to the Dial String
● AudioCodes: ‘p’ pauses, ‘w’ waits for dial tone.
● Class 1/Class 2: ‘,’ (comma) pauses.
● Brooktrout: ‘p’ pauses, ‘w’ waits for dial tone.
2.6.4 ANI (Caller ID)
When using Voice over IP, you must set your ANI. This will be used as your “From” phone number. Note that
only T1/PRI hardware will actually attempt to use the specified ANI to make a call, and even then the T1/PRI
service provider may override the ANI you set, or may even reject calls with an “invalid” ANI (as defined by that
particular service provider).
To set global ANI, run the Change Server Settings utility, Start ⇨ Programs ⇨ NET SatisFAXtion ⇨ Change
Server Settings. Click on the Fax Hardware Settings button, and change to the General tab. Click OK when you
have set your ANI.
2.6.5 Cover Sheet Templates
Cover sheet templates are kept at the fax server as Rich Text Format (RTF) documents. Any
software that can create an RTF file or any file that can be converted to an RTF file can be used as
a cover sheet. There is no limitation as to how many cover sheets you may have on your fax
server.
Static information in the RTF file, such as a logo or street address, is combined with variable
information to generate cover sheets for all faxes in which a cover sheet is specified. The location
of variable information is identified in the RTF file through the use of placeholders. A placeholder is
replaced with the current value of the placeholder; for example: $(Date), $(SenderName),
$(Cover), etc.
2.6.5.1 Cover Sheet Templates for Email Users
There are 3 ways to identify a cover sheet template to be used for an email user:
