Menu

To configure the QUAD 2164 T1 options, select the QUAD shelf and
slot, then type “C” and press E

In Service—Puts the selected port in service (Y) or takes it out of service

(N). Ports must be placed in service before the IMUX 2160 module can

use them.

Frame Format—Specifies the framing format as Extended Superframe

(ESF) or Superframe (SF) for the selected port. Match the framing format

provided by the network service provider (phone company).

Line Coding—Specifies the line coding for the selected port as

Alternating Mark Inversion (AMI) or Binary 8-Zeros Substitution (B8ZS).

You must match the line coding supplied by your network service

provider.

Line Build Out—Specifies the line build out for the selected port. If the

T1 terminates in a network termination device (also called smart jack)

then select a line build out value of 0dB. Always use 0db for a T1

installed in the USA by a local Bell carrier, unless otherwise directed by

the carrier.

Network Density—Sets the type of ones density support for the selected

port. Required only with AMI line coding.

Network Initiated Loop—Specifies if the port will respond to loopback
