Performance Monitoring

This chapter provides information about the QUAD/IMUX
performance and status menus, including the following:

LED states

Alarm Menu

Performance Monitoring Menu.

LED States

The QUAD/IMUX uses tri-color LEDs

QUAD 2164 LEDs

The SYS LED will blink green to off if the QUAD 2164 is the shelf
controller for the management bus it is using (this could be Bus A
or C). The SYS LED will be lit steady green if the shelf is controlled
by another module (another QUAD 2164 or an NCM 2000).

NOTE: If more than one module in a shelf displays a SYS LED

blinking green-to-off, those modules are using different ACP

bus segments. See the Node Administration Menu (in Chapter

3 for E1 versions or Chapter 4 for T1 versions).

Red NET LED

The T1 port has been put into service, but the signal received at
that port is different from the port’s configuration. Ensure that the
port’s options have been configured correctly.

If the problem persists, select

the Performance/Status options from

the Main Menu and check for indications of a bad T1 signal:

Loss of Signal (LOS)

Loss of Frame (LOF)

CRC errors.

Remove the T1 line from the port and install a loopback plug. If the
LED turns green, call the network service provider.

Amber NET LED

A loopback has been activated on that port. Deactivate the
loopback at the port from the Diagnostics Menu.
