Overview

This manual describes Verilink’s Access System 2000 T1/E1 Inverse
Multiplexer system (QUAD/IMUX). It is assumed that the reader is
familiar with basic telecommunications and the AS2000 platform
(see the manual AS2000: The Basics for information about the
AS2000 platform).

Manual Organization

The contents of this manual are divided according to the following
plan.

This chapter contains an overview of the QUAD/IMUX product
and includes features and specifications.

Chapter 2, "

Quick Set-Up

", contains a Quick-Start Guide which

gives a step-by-step installation procedure for a typical United
States T1 installation.

Chapter 3, "

E1 Configuration Menus

", contains detailed

information on the E1 version of the QUAD/IMUX used in
Europe and most of the world outside North America.

Chapter 4, "

T1 Configuration Menus

", contains detailed

information on the T1 version used in North America, the
Philipine Islands and Japan.

Chapter 5, "

Performance Monitoring

", details the performance

monitoring features of the QUAD/IMUX.

Chapter 6, "

Diagnostics

", explains the diagnostic features of

the QUAD/IMUX.

Appendix A, "

Default Configuration

", presents the factory

default values for the QUAD 2164 and IMUX 2160 modules
used in the QUAD/IMUX.
