Active-standby switchover of the main control boards
The WX6103 can be equipped with two main control boards, one in active state and the other in standby
state. When the active board becomes faulty, the standby board immediately takes over to ensure the
normal operation of the access controller. This process is known as active-standby switchover.
Any of the following situations will trigger an active-standby switchover of the main control boards:
• The active main control board becomes faulty.
• The active main control board is unplugged.
Switch interface board
The switch interface board provides twenty-four 10/100/1000Base-TX Gigabit electrical Ethernet ports,
and four SFP combo ports or two XFP ports (depending on the 10GE interface module used on the switch
interface board). Ports 21 through 24 of the twenty-four electrical Ethernet ports are combo ports.
