Connecting interface cables
Connecting the console cable
The console cable is an 8-core cable with an RJ-45 connector at one end for the console port of the
access controller and a DB-9 female connector at the other end for the 9-pin serial port of a PC or console
terminal.

Follow these steps to connect the console cable before configuring your access controller through a PC
or console terminal:
Step1
Power off the access controller.
Step2
Connect the DB-9 female connector of the console cable to the serial port of the PC or console terminal.
Step3
Connect the RJ-45 connector of the console cable to the console port of the access controller.
Step4
Verify the connection, switch on the access controller and check whether the console terminal displays
the boot information.
Connecting category-5 cables
The 10Base-T/100Base-TX and 1000Base-T ports of the WX6103 access controller use RJ-45 connectors.
The ports support MDI/MDI-X auto-sensing and work with Category-5 cables.
