after the upgrade. Then the application of the access controller will be upgraded to the latest version.

Item Description

File

Set the path to save the application file.
The file name must have an extension of .app or .bin.

File Type

Set the file type.

Main—the main boot file to be used at the next boot.

Backup—the backup boot file to be used at the next boot. When the main
boot file is unavailable, the backup boot file boots the access controller.

If a file with the same name

already exists, overwrite it
without any prompt

If you do not select this option, when a file with the same name exists, the

system prompts that the file already exists, and the application cannot be
upgraded.

Reboot after the upgrade is
finished

Set whether to reboot the access controller to make the configuration take
effect after the file is uploaded.

CAUTION:

Software upgrade takes time. Do not perform any operation on the web interface during the upgrade
process to avoid upgrade interruption.

Upgrading the application and configuration files

at the CLI

After the access controller is started, you can upgrade, back up, and restore the application and

configure files at the CLI. The backup configuration file can be modified by using a text editor. You can
update the system configuration by downloading a modified configuration file. Your update takes effect

after the access controller is restarted.

Maintaining the access controller through TFTP

The H3C WX6103 access controller can only operate as a TFTP client. You can upload the configuration
and application files from the access controller to the file server or download the files from the file server

to the access controller through CLI configurations.

Setting up a configuration environment

Step1

Use an Ethernet cable to connect the 10/100/1000BASE-TX interface on the access controller to a PC.

The PC operate as the TFTP server, and access controller as the TFTP client.
