Removing and installing the fan tray

CAUTION:

To prevent bodily injury, do not touch any naked wires, terminals, and parts with a high-voltage hazard
warning sign.

When replacing the fan tray while the access controller is working, detach the fan tray from the
backplane and wait till the fans stop rotating before pulling it completely out. Be cautious not to touch the

spinning fan blades during this period.

The fan tray of the WX6103 is hot swappable.

Removing the fan tray

Follow these steps to remove the fan tray:

Step1

Put on an ESD-preventive wrist strap, and loosen the captive screws on the fan tray, as shown in callout

1 of

Figure 37

.

Step2

Pull the fan tray out of the chassis, as shown in callout 2 of

Figure 37

.

Step3

Put the removed fan tray into its package.

CAUTION:

Timely install a new fan tray after removing the old one to ensure normal operation of the access
controller.

Installing the fan tray

Follow these steps to install the fan tray:

Step1

Put on an ESD-preventive wrist strap and take the fan tray from its package.

Step2

Gently push the fan tray into the chassis until it is well seated on the backplane.

Step3

Fasten the captive screws on the fan tray.
