Specifying DNS Client Settings
The Domain Name Service (DNS) is a type of directory service that translates host names to
IP addresses and vice versa. For the most part, Application Servers and other devices on an
iControl network rely on IP addresses, and so DNS is not usually needed. There are, however,
circumstances where DNS is required, such as when an Application Server needs to have
access to the Internet in order to display a Web page from some external source
(e.g. www.weather.com).
REQUIREMENT
Before beginning this procedure, make sure you have navigated to the Network
Configuration page of Webmin (see
).
