4-12 ENGINE LUBRICATION SYSTEM

Oil Cooler

Apply engine oil to the thread [A] of the passage bolt and
O-ring [B] of the oil filter [C].

Tighten the oil filter (P/No. 16097-1072).

Torque - Oil Filter: 18 N·m (1.8 kgf·m, 13 ft·lb)

Connect the oil pressure switch connector securely.

Install the cooling hoses (see Cable, Wire and Hose Rout-
ing in Appendix chapter).

Install the inlet manifold (see Fuel System (DFI) chapter).

Oil Cooler Disassembly

Remove:

Oil Cooler (see Oil Cooler Removal)
Water Hose Joints [A]
Oil Pressure Switch [B]
Oil Cooler Assembly Bolts [C]

Remove the O-ring [A].

Turn the oil cooler up side down, and remove the assem-
bly bolts [B].

Separate the oil cooler.

Inside Oil Cooler Cover [A]
O-rings [B]
Oil Cooler [C]
Outside Oil Cooler Cover [D]

Oil Cooler Assembly

Apply grease to new O-rings, and fit them on to each
groove of the coolers securely.

Apply silicon sealant to the joints and tighten them.

Sealant - Kawasaki Bond (Silicone Sealant): 56019-120

Torque - Oil Cooler Assembly Bolts: 7.8 N·m (0.80 kgf·m,

69 in·lb)

Water Hose Joints: 20 N·m (2.0 kgf·m, 14 ft·lb)

Install the oil cooler (see Oil Cooler Installation).
