Sensors
Throttle Sensor Inspection
•
Refer to Throttle Sensor Section in the Fuel System chap-
ter.
Water Temperature Sensor Inspection
•
Remove the water temperature sensor (see Feul (DFI)
System chapter).
•
Suspend the sensor [A] in a container of water so that the
temperature-sensing projection is submerged.
•
Suspend an accurate thermometer [B] in the water.
NOTE
○
The sensor and thermometer must not touch the con-
tainer side or bottom.
•
Place the container over a source of heat and gradually
raise the temperature of the water while stirring the water
gently.
•
Using the hand tester, measure the internal resistance of
the sensor at the temperatures shown in the table.
If the hand tester does not show the specified values, re-
place the sensor.

50°C (122°F) approx. 78.5 kΩ
90°C (194°F) approx. 18.1 kΩ
100°C (212°F) approx. 13.2 kΩ
Inlet Air Temperature Sensor Inspection
•
Refer to Inlet Air Temperature Sensor Section in the Fuel
System chapter.
Oil Temperature Sensor Inspection
•
Remove the oil temperature sensor (see Feul (DFI) Sys-
tem chapter).
•
Suspend the sensor [A] in a container of water so that the
temperature-sensing projection is submerged.
•
Suspend an accurate thermometer [B] in the water.
NOTE
○
The sensor and thermometer must not touch the con-
tainer side or bottom.
•
Place the container over a source of heat and gradually
raise the temperature of the water while stirring the water
gently.
•
Using the hand tester, measure the internal resistance of
the sensor at the temperatures shown in the table.
