WIRING PROCEDURES

Wiring should be implemented in accordance with
the following procedures. these procedures dis-

agree with local electrical codes, the local codes

should be followed instead. After completing wiring,

check that all wires have been properly connected.

CAUTION:

Incorrect

mav cause damaae to

the inverter and/or result in improper operation.

The Main Circuit Terminal Block is located at the

bottom portion of the inverter. The Control Circuit

Terminal Block is located near the middle of the

inverter. (See Figure 4-l)

NOTE:

and

terminals are

together at the factory. A DC Reactor is also shipped

for connection between terminals

on 100 HP

and above.

MAIN CIRCUIT WIRING

CAUTION:

Be sure that the power

is never

connected to the U, W terminals nor the N,

and

P terminals. Never connect N to

nor N to P.

Power

Connections

1 . Connect a circuit breaker between the three-phase

power supply and main circuit terminals ,

L3

(see Figure 4-2).

An AC Line Reactor may be required for some

applications. (See

Line Reactor Connec-

tion” paragraph in this section.)

2. If a starter or contactor is used between the circuit

breaker and the main circuit terminals to shut off
power to the inverter if an inverter fault occurs,

then wire control power as shown in Figure 43.

NOTE: See TABLE 2 for description of all terminals

and TABLE 3 for application wiring list.

NOTE: An MC Contactof (see figure 4-3) should be

used when either:

(7) A dynamic braking option is installed.
(2)

supply lines can experience an

voltage condition.

if the current rating of the MC Contactor coil is too
large for the Fault Relay Contacts, be sure to use a
pilot relay as shown in Figure
