IP Video Testing with the FrameScope Pro

Stream Receiving

The video may consist of one or two RTP channels (one for
video and one for audio). In the latter case, the FrameScope Pro
measures and collects the results for both RTP streams.

In certain network configurations with the firewalls, the stream
data may be interleaved with the RTSP. This interleaving is not
supported. The media server must send the stream data on the
transport channels that are separated from the RTSP channel.

Stream Quality Measurement

The IPTV test software performs video quality measurement by
calculating the total packet loss, packet loss ratio, and jitter by
using the sequence and timestamp information in the RTP
header.

Other measurements performed by the IPTV test software are
listed in

“IPTV statistics, requires Option N2620A-071”

on

page 142.

Test Modes

The FrameScope Pro supports two test modes, the Monitor test
mode and the Terminate test mode.

Monitor mode

In Monitor mode, a set-top box is used to initiate the IPTV
channel setup and to change channels while the FrameScope
Pro is analyzing the IPTV traffic parameters.
