Locating a Port with Blink Port

You can use the FrameScope Pro test port, located at the side of
the FrameScope Pro, to locate a network connection port on a
hub or switch. The FrameScope Pro will toggle on or off the port
link indicator, causing it to blink.

This section describes how to use the Blink Port feature of the
FrameScope Pro.

1

Connect the FrameScope Pro to the remote end of the circuit
of the hub you want to locate. For example, connecting the
FrameScope Pro to the network wall circuit.

2

Press Tools on the Main Menu screen to display the Tools
menu.

3

Press Blink Port on the Tools menu to display the Blink Port
screen.

4

Press Start to start blinking the port.

5

Observe the hub or switch and note which port link indicator
is blinking. That will be the port for the test circuit.

6

Press Stop on the Blink Port screen to stop the test.
