Setting Up the Optional Auxiliary Port

The Auxiliary Port of the FrameScope Pro provides an
additional 10/100 Mbps Ethernet interface. It allows you to
remotely control and access the FrameScope Pro through a
network different from the network-under-test.

The Auxiliary Port can also be used for VoIP tests if the test port
is being used for background traffic generation at the same
time. For further details, please refer to

Chapter 3

,

“Simultaneous Traffic Generation during VoIP Testing” on
page 102.

The Auxiliary Port cannot be used for network performance
testing or with the troubleshooting tools available for the RJ45
and SFP Gigabit Ethernet test ports.

Select Auxiliary Port Settings on the System Settings Network
menu and press Edit to call the Auxiliary Port Settings screen to
view the status of the Auxiliary port or to make changes to it.

The screen shows the status of the Auxiliary port link and the
IP address, subnet mask, and default gateway configured for the
port.
