By having two standard configuration files, a switch can retain its prior
configuration settings when converted from a stand-alone configuration to
a stack member, or vice versa. This saves you the trouble of having to
reconfigure the device.
It should be noted, however, that the parameter settings from a stand-
alone configuration file cannot be transferred to a stack configuration file.
For a switch to have the same settings in a stack that it had as a stand-
alone device, you must reapply the settings after adding the switch to the
stack.
