3.1.5 Menu
When the program starts the first time,
it runs in Operator mode, and the Setup
and Maintenance functions are not
available.
To access these two menu items, the program
first has to be started in supervisor mode. Setup
and Maintenance then become active.
3.1.6 File menu
• New - Allows the supervisor to create a new
layout based on a blank layout, from a tem-
plate, or using a "wizard".
• Open - Allows the operator to open a "new lay-
out" that is stored on the computer's hard disk,
a CD/DVD or network drive.
• Supervisor - Puts the program into Supervi-
sor mode of operation, enabling the more ad-
vanced features.
Note that a password will be required
to enable this mode.
Once the program is in the supervisor mode
of operation, this menu item will be renamed
to "Operator", providing a method of switch-
ing back to operator mode.

The "File menu" provides access to the program
functions that deal with loading layout files for
printing, as well as for accessing other special
program operations.
3. User Interface
The main form contains a menu bar at the top.
The menus provided are File, Printer, Setup,
Maintenance and Help. Note that the Setup and
Maintenance menus are "grayed" out, indicating
that they are not accessible. This is one of the
default settings in "Operator" mode.
