Description UPS Input/Output
This input changes state when the UPS normally open Low
Battery contacts open to indicate that UPS battery power is UPS Low Battery (Digital
Input 2)
low (regardless of whether the UPS is supplying power to the
system or not).
Only supported in systems that use a Model 493.73 HPU
board. UPS External Event (Digital
Input 3)
Not Used. UPS Off (Digital Output 1)
b) Define the State, Persistence, and Polarity settings for each UPS input.
Description UPS Setting
The State setting is locked in the Enabled state. State
Future - Determines whether or not the line fault detector changes state
if power is supplied by the UPS. The default setting is Enabled.
Time value in milliseconds. This is the number of milliseconds in which
the state must persist before the software recognizes the change. The Persistence
default setting is 0, which means the change in state is recognized
immediately.
Normal or Inverted. The default value depends on the type of hardware
resource used to monitor the UPS: Polarity
For Model 494.44 and Model 494.42 system boards: Default = Normal
For Model 493.73 HPU boards: Default = Inverted
These default polarity settings are based on normally open contacts.
3. Define Station UPS Options with the Station Manager application.
When you open a station configuration created with an .hwi file that includes a UPS, you can
select UPS options in the Station Setup window.

How to Set Model 493.40 I/O Carrier Address

Use the DIP switch (S1) and rotary DIP switch (S2) on each I/O Carrier board to set its address
in accord with its chassis slot as follows:
