The Detect Hardware feature will not detect a Model 498.70 board, Model 497 chassis tab, or any
hardware added through the Miscellaneous tab (such as temperature controllers, RSCs, and
handsets). You must manually add those hardware resources for any system that uses those
hardware types.

Use Detect Hardware Feature

1. Open either a new or existing .hwi file.

2. From the Options menu, click Detect Hardware.

The detect hardware process adds and removes hardware resources based on what hardware
was detected.

3. All detected hardware appears in the hardware resource tree. (Slot numbers for each board

appear in brackets.)

4. Manually add any hardware that appears in the Miscellaneous tab (such as, temperature

controllers, RSCs, and handsets).
